What Faith Is & What Faith Isn't

Source: YouVersion

He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." (Matthew 17:20)

What faith is?
  • Faith is believing the Word of God and acting upon it knowing that God promises a good result.
  • Faith always involves a surrender to the will of God.
  • Faith always keeps its eyes on the faith source.
What faith isn't?
  • Faith is not faith in faith.
  • Faith is not faith in my ability to move anything.
  • Faith is not a device that manipulates the will of God.
  • Faith is not positive thinking.
  • Faith is not just believing, because the bible says even the demons believe and fear and tremble.
The word of faith movement ultimately teaches people to have confidence in the gifts that God wants to give you, have enough faith and it's yours! Say it and claim it! That's not faith, that's covetousness. That's not faith that's inordinate affection. Loving the gift instead of the giver.

Surrender to the will of God, if he prospers you great!
If he doesn't that's great too because God always knows what you need most.
Keep your eyes on God and not the objects or gifts!
